Amy Brooks

President


Ms Brooks is a graduate of NCSU with a B.S. in Natural Resources, Soil & Water Systems concentration. She has been an employee of Brooks Contractor/ Brooks Compost Facility (www.brookscontractor.com) for approximately 8 years. Positions held: assistant office manager, sales and customer relations, food waste recycling program coordinator, research and development coordinator, and also responsible for temperature monitoring and documentation at the compost facility. Interests include compost use research, specifically turf grass and agriculture uses, compost blends, biodiesel, and pursuing an education in horticulture.



Rhonda Sherman

Vice President


Rhonda Sherman has 22 years of experience in solid waste management and has been on faculty at NC State University for 15 years (www.bae.ncsu.edu/people/faculty/sherman/). Rhonda provides education and technical assistance on vermicomposting and composting throughout the United States and dozens of countries. She has a Compost Training Facility in Raleigh, featuring a 40- foot by 30-foot vermicomposting building, a teaching shelter, and 20 types of composting bins. A former president and vice-president of the Carolinas Composting Council, Rhonda served on the steering committee for six years in the 1990s, and for three years as a board member of the U.S. Composting Council. Rhonda is formerly a contributing editor of BioCycle magazine.


Frank Franciosi

Frank Franciosi is currently Manager of the Nature’s GREEN-RELEAF TM - Novozymes North America, Inc. Composting Facility in Franklinton, NC (www.naturesgreenreleaf.com). Past experience includes sales and operations management in the” Green Industry”, working for national landscape companies in the Commercial Landscape sector. Frank has spent the last 20 years working with residuals management and composting. Frank started North Carolina’s first source-separated organics composting facility in Rocky Mount, North Carolina. Frank has served as past President of the Carolinas Composting Council (2 terms), is the current President and Board Member of the U.S. Composting Council. As owner of Akkadia Consulting he has provided professional consulting services on projects of animal waste management, biosolids management, coal ash residuals, composting of industrial residuals, and product marketing. Frank has a BS in Horticulture from West Virginia University.



Lyndell Pate

Board Secretary


Lyndell Pate is President of N40 Compost, LLC (www.n40compost.com), a company that provides state-of-the-art equipment solutions to composters throughout the U.S. His company provides equipment sales and technical support for Backhus (a German windrow turner), Backers (a German star-screen manufacturer), Terra Select (a German trommel screen manufacturer), Seiko (an Italian chopper/mixer company), and Span-Tech (an American maker of fabric structures). Lyndell has 9 years experience in compost equipment management.

 

Jim Lainer

Director

Jim is the President and CEO of Earth Farms Soil and Compost (www.earthfarms.com) in Dallas, NC. Established 2005. Jim participated in the "Compost Stakeholder Steering Committee for Stormwater Management". Mr Lainer currently sits on the NCSTA Board and has been appointed by the Governor to sit on the North Carolina Onsite Waste Water Contractor Inspector Certification Board. Owner of Stanley Environmental Solutions Inc. Established 1969, Stanley installs commercial wastewater systems, pump and service restaurant grease traps, industrial waste and septic systems.
