Backyard composting converts leaves, kitchen scraps and garden waste into a valuable soil conditioner that boosts plant growth. Compost can be used on gardens, lawns, and houseplants. In addition to making valuable compost, you will keep organic materials out of landfills and the kitchen sink drain. How much you compost will depend on the amount of organic materials you regularly have available and the space you have for composting. How fast you compost depends on the amount of effort you are willing to put into the process. Here are some links for more information about backyard composting.
