From Raleigh, NC: Take Hwy 64 West into Pittsboro.  Bear right at the traffic circle in the middle of town. Continue on Hwy 64 West towards Siler City.  Go .3 (3 tenths) of a mile from the traffic circle, (passing the Chatham Law Enforcement Center but before the traffic light) and turn left on McClenehan St.  McClenehan St. will dead-end/ T into Pittsboro Elementary School Rd.  Turn left onto Pittsboro Elementary School Rd.  Pass the tennis courts on the left.  The CRA office/ RAFI’s driveway is on the left after the tennis courts.

From Durham/ Chapel Hill, NC: Take 15/ 501 south into Pittsboro.  Bear right at the traffic circle in the middle of town. From Asheville, NC: Take I-40 E towards Greensboro.  Take exit 147 onto NC 87 towards Pittsboro.  In Pittsboro cross US-64 then turn left onto Pittsboro Elementary School Road. Pass the school on right and tennis courts on left. The CRA office/ RAFI’s driveway is on the left after the tennis courts.

From Wilmington, NC: Take 40 W to the I-440/US-1/US-64 exit- exit number 293- towards RALEIGH/WAKE FOREST/SANFORD. Merge onto 64 W. Follow signs for 64 West to Pittsboro/Asheboro. Pass Pittsboro exits for 64 Business and 15-501 and take the next exit onto Hwy 87, take left off of exit and go 2-3 miles, go through light that goes across US-64 and take your next left onto Pittsboro Elementary School Road. Pass the school on right and tennis courts on left. The CRA office/ RAFI’s driveway is on the left after the tennis courts.

From I-77: FROM I-77: exit at Two Notch Road (US 1) and head north (away from downtown). Travel about 3 miles on Two Notch Rd. (US 1). The Sandhills Research & Education Center is on the left (west side of Two Notch). However, you must exit RIGHT to go on the overpass at Clemson Road. After you are on Clemson Road the entrance to the research center will be on the right. From Davidson: Take I-77 south to Exit 28, take Route 73 west (right) 6 miles to Hicks Crossroads: take Beatties Ford Road south (left) 5 miles to Sample Road, and Sample Road west (right) one mile to the park entrance. 

From Huntersville: Take Gilead Road west one mile to McCoy Road, go south on McCoy 2 miles to Hambright Road, turn right onto Hambright (west) to Beatties Ford Road, turn left on Beatties Ford (south) one mile to Sample Road, turn right onto Sample Rd. (west) one mile to park entrance. 

From Charlotte: Take I-77 north to Exit 16B, Sunset Road West, go ½ mile west on Sunset Rd. to Beatties Ford Road, right onto Beatties Ford, 5 miles to Sample Road, left on Sample Rd., one mile to park entrance. 

From Concord:  Take Hwy. 73 all the way – keep going straight. Come to Beatties Ford Rd. and take a left. Go south 5 miles to Sample Road, and Sample Road west (right) one mile to the park entrance.

NCDA&CS Lab

From I-40:

The lab is on Reedy Creek Road, off Blue Ridge, which runs north-south along the east side of the NC State Fairgrounds.  From I-40, exit at Gorman Street and travel north (towards NCSU).  At Hillsborough, turn left.  Pass the signs for the veterinary school and turn right at the light onto Blue Ridge.  After passing the fairgrounds, look for the art museum on the right and Reedy Creek turning off to the left.

If taking the loop from the west, exit at Blue Ridge and turn left. Turn left at the next light onto Reedy Creek (across from art museum).

(Raleigh, NC)

From I-40:

Exit at Wheeler Road and turn south (away from Farmer's Market).  When you go through the intersection of Wheeler Road and Tryon Road, the landscape will turn into farmland.  Look for a low sign on the left for the NC State Shop and turn left onto a dirt road to the shop area.  Past the shop buildings, the drive will make a sharp left, then a sharp right.  At the right-hand curve, look for a yellow utility building on the left ... that's the composting facility.  It's next door to a six-foot chain link fence enclosure used to store pesticides.  If you need other directions or information, call Rhonda Sherman-Huntoon at 919-515-6770 or sherman@unity.ncsu.edu.

Follow Rocky River Rd. for approximately ½ mile, then turn right into Reedy Creek Park and Nature Preserve. Follow the main park road to a t-intersection and stop sign, then turn right and proceed to the Nature Center parking lot. 

From Monroe/Rockingham/Lumberton

Take US 74 West to West W.T. Harris Blvd. Turn right onto West W.T. Harris Blvd. (at LaPointe Mitsubishi). Follow West W.T. Harris Blvd. for approximately 10 miles to the stoplight at Grier Rd. Turn right onto Grier Rd. and proceed for approximately ½ mile to the intersection with Rocky River Rd. Proceed to the right then immediately turn right into Reedy Creek Park and Nature Preserve. Follow the main park road to a t-intersection and stop sign, then turn right and proceed to the Nature Center parking lot. 

From Hickory/Asheville

Take I-40 East to Exit 152 (I-77 South). Follow I-77 South to Exit 13 (I-85 North). Follow I-85 North to Exit 45-A (East W.T. Harris Blvd.). Travel on East W.T. Harris Blvd. to the 4^th stoplight and turn left onto Rocky River Rd. Follow Rocky River Rd. for approximately ½ mile, then turn right into Reedy Creek Park and Nature Preserve. Follow the main park road to a t-intersection and stop sign, then turn right and proceed to the Nature Center parking lot.

City of Rock Hill Operations Center 
(Rock Hill, SC)

From I-77:

I-77 to exit #79 (Dave Lyle Blvd.). Off I-77 South, turn right (or left, if coming off I-77 North) onto Dave Lyle Blvd. Go several miles, until you see Good’s car lot on left. Turn right at that light, onto White Street. Go to the dead end. Turn right, then turn into the third parking lot entrance on the left. Sign in with receptionist.

From I-85:

I-85 to exit #102 (at Hwy. 198). Off I-85 South, turn left (or right, if coming off I-85 North) onto Hwy. 198. Go to the dead end at Hwy. 29. Turn left, then right onto Hwy. 5. Stay on Hwy. 5 all the way to Rock Hill (about 45-50 minutes).

After passing Northwestern High School (on your right), go through several more lights. At Hwy. 322 (Cherry Rd.), turn left. At the next traffic light (Constitution Ave.) turn right. Turn left at the next street (Columbia Ave.). Turn into the third parking lot entrance on the left. Sign in with receptionist.
